If you’re excited about the upcoming release of the Resident Evil 2 remake, you’re not alone. Given how iconic the franchise is and based on the screenshots we’ve seen, this is definitely one of the remakes that looks like it could be worth the wait. Now if you can’t wait to check out the game, not to worry as Capcom has you covered.

The company has announced that a “1-shot” demo of the game is set for a release on the 11th of January. The reason for it being called a “1-shot” demo is as its name implies: this is a demo that you only get to play once. The demo will last for 30 minutes longer and you will be playing as Leon with a set of objectives you have to complete within the time limit.

If you finish all the objects, you can restart the mission and explore the rest of Racoon City until the time is up. The same will happen if you die where you’ll be able to restart and keep playing until the 30 minutes is up. Once the demo is over, players will be treated to a exclusive cinematic trailer as a reward, but you won’t be able to play it again.

The remake of Resident Evil 2 is currently set for a release on the 25th of January so players will have a couple of weeks to check out the demo before the main game.
