Ahead of the Nintendo Switch’s launch, there was speculation that the console won’t be a particularly power console compared to the likes of the PS4 or Xbox One. It was also speculated that it might actually be built based on the NVIDIA SHIELD gaming tablet. Whether or not those rumors are true is unclear, but it seems that one developer is trying to turn the console into an Android tablet.

This is thanks to the work by developer ByLaws who seems to be working on transforming the Switch into a full-fledged Android tablet. Given that the Switch features a touchscreen and how it runs on the NVIDIA Tegra X1 SoC, it doesn’t seem completely out of the question. Unfortunately it seems that for now, ByLaws hasn’t progressed too far apart from the console booting up while showing the Android logo.

According to the developer, they are now working on trying to get the drivers working, which means that it might be some time before we actually see a fully functional Android tablet. That being said, even if it does work, we’re not sure how many users would want to transform their Switch into an Android tablet, but at the very least it is a very impressive concept.
