T-Mobile has recently confirmed their plans for when they will be rolling out their 5G networks, but the question we’re sure many have is that will these new 5G plans be more expensive than 4G? After all, they are new, and like we’re seeing with 5G smartphones, it does have the potential to be pricier.

The good news is that according to a report from PCMag, T-Mobile’s CTO Neville Ray confirmed to the publication that when their 5G plans are launched, it is not expected to be more expensive compared to 4G. Ray also shared additional good news which is that these 5G plans will also be unlimited, meaning that users won’t have to worry about a data cap and can use as much data as they want (within reason, of course).

Previously T-Mobile’s CEO John Legere had promised that the carrier would not be making any price hikes for the next three years, and Ray confirmed that this would be applicable to T-Mobile’s 5G plans as well. What this means is that assuming Ray’s statements are accurate, customers can expect to pay no more than $70 per line for an unlimited 5G plan.

In any case, we’ll have to wait and see what T-Mobile has planned for its 5G packages which should be later this year once the carrier’s 5G rollout begins.
