Tesla fans have been waiting to see a new vehicle from the company and their wish will be granted in just under a couple of weeks. CEO Elon Musk has confirmed that the company is going to show off its Model Y crossover SUV on March 14th. The vehicle will be unveiled at Tesla’s design studio in Los Angeles.

This new all-electric car will be Tesla’s fifth vehicle since the company was founded back in 2003. From what the company has already revealed about the vehicle so far, the Model Y will share almost 75 percent of its parts with the Model 3. The latter happens to be Tesla’s most affordable electric car with the company now offering the promised $35,000 base model as well.

Musk has previously said that the Model Y crossover SUV is going to be about 10 percent bigger than the Model 3 with a 10 percent higher cost. It will also have slightly less range compared to the Model 3. Don’t expect to see the crazy “Falcon Wing” doors of the Model X SUV on the Model Y, though.

Additional details about the car including its specifications and pricing will be given at the event. As it has done at previous events, attendees will have the opportunity to take a test ride in the new vehicle.
