OnePlus talked up its OnePlus 7 Pro flagship smartphone just yesterday without giving away when the handset is going to be announced. Never one to not take full advantage of the hype surrounding its devices, OnePlus has confirmed just a day later when it’s going to unveil the OnePlus 7 Pro. The announcement has been scheduled for May 14th. It will take place in New York.

The company’s confirmation for the event only mentions the OnePlus 7 Pro but one can reasonably expect that a standard OnePlus 7 will be launched alongside the handset as well on May 14th. The Pro model is expected to be priced higher than any OnePlus smartphone that we have seen so far and it will have the specs to match that price tag.

Rumors suggest that the OnePlus 7 Pro will feature a pop-up camera in addition to 5G support. The company’s CEO Pete Lau said yesterday that the company has significantly improved the display panel on the device. OnePlus is also using the “Go Beyond Speed” tag in the launch teaser for this device.

The OnePlus 7 Pro launch event is going to take place at 11am EDT at Pier 94 in New York. Tickets can be purchased from OnePlus.com starting April 25th. There are $20 early bird discounted tickets which will be available in the first 48 hours. There’s going to be a livestream of the event in addition to simultaneous events in London, Beijing, and Bangalore.
