Next Monday will officially bring HBO’s Game of Thrones series to an end. There has been quite a bit of controversy regarding the last season and the direction that the show seems to be headed towards, but then again, this is Game of Thrones. Neither the show nor the books have really followed the typical tropes one expects from a fantasy series, which is kind of why it has gained as much popularity as it has.

That being said, what’s just as popular is the intro theme song to the show, which we imagine could have the staying power as Star Wars’ Imperial Death March. If you love the theme song, then you’ll definitely want to check out the video above put together by Fender. The guitar company has brought several famous guitarists together where they then proceed to give the theme song a metal cover.

These musicians include Tom Morello of Audioslave/Rage Against The Machine, Scott Ian of Anthrax, Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme, Brad Paisley, along with the Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi, and also none other than one of the show’s creators, Dan Weiss. The end result is rather epic, with each musician adding a bit of their signature sound to the song.

The video also showcases new Sigil Collection Guitars that is part of Fender’s Custom Shop, where there are guitars that have been designed around each of the main houses in the Game of Thrones story.

If you have a few minutes to spare, then this is a cover you should most definitely check out.
