The infinity pool design has been around for a while now, and just in case the concept isn’t familiar to you, basically these are pools that do not have an obvious edge to them. The idea is that by camouflaging the edge of the pool, it gives it an infinity look where it feels like it stretches on forever.

However, it seems that the concept of the regular infinity pool could soon be turned on its head thanks to the work of Compass Pools, whose designers have come up with the 360-degree infinity pool in which it could be making its debut in London, making it the first of its kind. The concept is the same, but it will feature infinity edges along all of its sides.

As you can see in the image above, placing it on the top of a building will afford swimmers an unprecedented view of the London skyline, although we imagine that it will probably not be ideal for those who might have a fear of heights. As to how swimmers will get to the top of the pool given that there are no obvious stairs, this is because a set of spiral stairs has been hidden that will grant swimmers access to it, which also helps it maintain its pristine look.

“The solution is based on the door of a submarine, coupled with a rotating spiral staircase which rises from the pool floor when someone wants to get in or out — the absolute cutting edge of swimming pool and building design and a little bit James Bond to boot!” The pool itself has yet to be built but there are plans to begin construction in 2020 once partners and contractors have been confirmed.
