Last year, Nintendo released a couple of new Pokemon games for the Nintendo Switch console. While the games were certainly welcome, they weren’t the core Pokemon RPGs that gamers were hoping for. However, the good news is that if you were looking forward to a core Pokemon RPG, clear your calendars for November because that’s when the game is expected to be launched.

Earlier this year, Nintendo announced Pokemon Sword and Shield. This will mark the first core Pokemon RPG on the Nintendo Switch, but at the time of the announcement, Nintendo did not mention when it would be available, at least until now. The company has since confirmed that Pokemon Sword and Shield will be officially released on the 15th of November, 2019.

It seems that the game will be pulling in some elements from Pokemon GO, such as raids, where during the company’s presentation of the game, they revealed a new game feature called Max Raid Battles. This is an online raid that will allow up to four players to defeat a supersized Pokemon known as Dynamax, which in a way feels similar to the raids offered by Pokemon GO.

Pre-orders are expected to go live soon, and Nintendo also announced that there will be a special twin pack offered that will contain both Pokemon Sword and Shield titles, for gamers who want to share or for hardcore fans who don’t want to miss out on any of the exclusives.
