The God of War franchise has a massive dedicated fan base and many of them will be interested in knowing when Sony plans on coming out with a God of War sequel. The company hasn’t confirmed anything as yet but its recent job postings suggest that it might have begun work on the sequel. Given how the previous title ending, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Santa Monica Studios did ultimately launch a sequel.

There hasn’t been an official confirmation about the God of War sequel at this point in time. There may not be any official word from the company itself for quite some time, even though God of War director Cory Barlog seemingly teased fans about a sequel revolving around Ragnarok. In addition to being the title of a Thor movie, Ragnarok means apocalypse in Norse mythology, which would befit the sequel for this game.

Some job listings have been spotted on Sony Santa Monica careers website which mention that suitable candidates “must have knowledge of God of War (2018)” in addition to being able to speak “in depth about the combat systems, mechanics and enemies.” This would suggest that the people being hired by the studio would be working on God of War 2, or whatever the sequel ends up being called.

The description of one particular position requires that the candidate have “next-gen video game platform experience” which would suggest that the sequel may first arrive on the PlayStation 5. This would mean that it will be quite some time before we get to see it.
