EA Sports hasn’t really said much about NBA Live 20. There was speculation that the title could even be canceled since it didn’t make an appearance during EA Play. However, it turns out that the publisher has merely decided to delay the NBA Live 20 release date to later this year.

EA released a financial report yesterday which mentioned that the upcoming basketball game is now slated to be released in the third fiscal quarter of this year. What that means is that the game is now going to be released between October 1st and December 31st, 2019.

The publisher was initially expected to release the game during the second fiscal quarter of this year. September was the likely month in which it would have released NBA Live 20 since last year’s title, NBA Live 19, was also released in the same month.

It has clarified that some changes are being made to the game which is why its release has been delayed. We’re planning a different approach to NBA Live this year, and will have more to share in the quarter ahead,” a representative for the company told Polygon. At least fans of this title can now rest assured that it’s not going to be canceled, it’s just going to come out a little later than it was initially expected.
