If you’re a fan of the Pacific Rim franchise and wouldn’t mind seeing more of it, then you might be pleased to learn that Netflix has recently confirmed that they will be launching a new anime series based on the Pacific Rim series of movies in 2020, and that the series has also been confirmed to run for at least two seasons.

According to Legendary Entertainment’s executive vice president of brand development and consumer products, Elie Dekel, “[This is] one of the biggest budget anime series I’ve had the pleasure of working on, and I think that speaks to the commitment of Netflix and Legendary [to anime].”

The anime is expected to have its own story, where it will tell a tale of how two siblings pilot an abandoned Jaeger mech in an attempt to find their missing parents. Other than that, not much else is known about the show, such as what it might look like or if there is anyone significant that has been cast.

It is also unclear if the anime will link back to the movies and if we might see some familiar characters, but we’ll just have to wait and see, but if you do enjoy the Pacific Rim universe and wouldn’t mind learning more about this, this could be an anime to keep an eye out for.
