Apple launched the iPhone 11 last month and it is the successor to last year’s iPhone XR. It comes with a brand new dual camera setup, a slight redesign in terms of color options, and apparently now it can glow in the dark as well! This was discovered by iPhone 11 owners when they turned on the flashlight on the back of their phones.

As you can see in the video above, this gives off a very cool effect, and we imagine that it will make it an even more useful tool in the dark. This feature was not mentioned during Apple’s press conference simply because it was a happy accident as a result of its design. Also, this effect seems to be only on the iPhone 11 and not the iPhone 11 Pro models.

As to why that might be the case, according to Redditor u/FourzerotwFAILS, “Could be because of the frosted glass on the camera bump. Probably scattering a bit of the light around the edges. Would explain why it’s not present on the pro models.” Some users claim that on the iPhone 11 Pro, the effect is there, albeit more muted and not quite as obvious.

Given how many iPhone 11 users seem to be delighted (pun intended) with this discovery, who knows, perhaps Apple could be considering more than just a glowing logo for future iPhone designs.
