BlizzCon is kicking off in November and according to recent speculation, it seems that there is a good chance that Blizzard could be announcing Diablo 4. Whether or not the rumors are true remains to be seen, but it should be pointed out that last year, there were similar rumors only for Blizzard to quash them later.

However, it seems that there is mounting evidence suggesting that this could indeed be true. This is according to German magazine, GameStar, in which in an ad published in the magazine for an upcoming art book, suggests that Diablo 4 is indeed in the works. The caption for the ad reads, “Featuring over 500 artworks from Diablo, Diablo II, Diablo III and Diablo IV.”

It would be safe to assume that Diablo 4 is indeed being worked on, but whether or not it could be announced at BlizzCon is a different story. The previous report comes from Kotaku in which it was said that Blizzard would be trying to right the PR disaster that was last year, hinting that Diablo 4 could make an appearance at this year’s event.

At the moment, Blizzard doesn’t have any major IPs in the works that we know of, so apart from a potential World of Warcraft expansion, we imagine that a new Diablo game is probably what Blizzard needs to get fans excited. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we’ll have more details soon.
