So we know that Microsoft is working on their next-gen Xbox console currently known as Project Scarlett. Typically with every new console release, what happens is that there will also be brand new accessories and controllers. In most cases, older accessories usually are no longer supported.

However, the good news is that if you are planning on buying the next-gen Xbox and you’re coming from the Xbox One, you’ll be pleased to learn that Microsoft has confirmed that all Xbox One controllers will play nice with the next-gen console. This is regardless of which Xbox One controller you have, it seems that all of them are expected to play nice with the next-gen console.

This is probably reassuring to gamers, especially those who might have forked out a lot of money for the Xbox Elite controller which is not cheap, so they’ll be happy to know that they won’t need to buy a new controller just to play the new console. Unfortunately, at this point in time, we don’t know much about the next-gen Xbox.

This means that while older controllers will be supported, we’re not sure if there could be anything gamers could potentially miss out on, so it looks like we’ll just have to wait and see.
