Not all monitors are made equal. While many share similar sizes and resolution, it is the finer details in which monitors differentiate themselves from each other. For example, some monitors might come with a faster refresh rate that gamers might prefer, while others might come with features that photo or video editors can appreciate.

If you fall into the latter category and you’re in need of a monitor to edit your photos or videos with greater color accuracy, then you might be pleased to learn that Dell has taken the wraps off their latest monitor in the form of the UP2720Q. This is a 27-inch monitor with a 4K resolution and according to Dell, will be the first monitor in its size and resolution to come with a built-in colorimeter.

For those who are unfamiliar, a colorimeter is a tool used to calibrate monitors. By having a colorimeter built into the monitor itself, it means that users can quickly and easily calibrate their monitors whenever they want. Dell also boasts that it will help to boost efficiency as the colorimeter will help to maintain the consistency from production to delivery.

Other features of the monitor include Thunderbolt 3 connectivity which allows for faster data transfer, while at the same time allowing users to connect their laptops to the monitor and charge it at the same time. Unfortunately, the Dell UP2720Q does not come cheap at $2,000 and it is expected to be available come 15th January, 2020.
