Apple’s Magic Mouse has kept its design for many years already, and for the most part it works, but could there be a redesign in its future? That’s what a recently discovered patent seems to be hinting at, where it has been suggested that Apple could be working on a “pro” version of the Magic Mouse.

In recent years, Apple has started adding the “Pro” moniker to its products, like the iMac Pro, iPad Pro, and the AirPods Pro, so for them to potentially create a Magic Mouse Pro wouldn’t seem entirely out of the question. So, what so “Pro” about this Magic Mouse? Basically, it is a mouse that can sense where the user is and orient itself to the user.

It also suggests that moving the mouse will not be done the traditional way, where you would move the entire mouse. Instead, users will tilt the device in the direction that they want. It sounds like it will be quite a radical change in design and operation, given that we’ve been using mice the same way for decades.

That being said, we should note that this is only a patent which means that there is no guarantee that Apple will make it a reality, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information in the future.
