When you go to a movie, chances are you aren’t really expecting much. You expect to be able to enjoy your movie, maybe some snacks, and then go home. However, it seems that over in Russia, Nintendo Russia surprised Frozen 2 audiences when they made an appearance in the cinema and started giving away free Nintendo Switch bundles.

We’re not sure what Nintendo and Disney might be working on or how the Switch bundles tie-in with the movie, but hey, free is free, right? We’re not sure how this particular group of audiences were selected, but it’s still great PR for the company. Nintendo Russia made headlines earlier this year when its CEO seemingly lost his temper during an official livestream, so it could be that the company might be trying to get back in the good graces of its customers.

This isn’t the first time that we’re seeing Nintendo give away its consoles seemingly at random. Earlier this year, Nintendo surprised Southwest Airlines passengers when they gave customers free Switch bundles with Super Mario Maker 2. It is a good PR strategy as it essentially locks customers into the Switch ecosystem.

Nintendo seems to have a habit of doing these giveaways, although it looks like you’ll really need to be lucky to be part of it.
