Netflix Announces The Witcher: Nightmare Of The Wolf Animated Movie

witcherLast year, Netflix released The Witcher TV series and according to the company, it is possibly their most-viewed first season ever where they estimate that it has been watched by as many as 76 million member households within the first four weeks of its release. This is why it doesn’t come as a surprise that the company is looking to milk the franchise for all its worth.

Netflix has since announced that they plan on releasing an animated movie based on The Witch dubbed The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. According to the brief description, “The world of The Witcher expands in this anime film that explores a new threat facing the Continent.”

At this point in time, there was no mention of additional details such as casting, but the movie is expected to feature producers Lauren Hissrich and Beau DeMayo who were behind the live-action TV series. It will also be animated by Studio Mir, a Korean animation studio who did movies like The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender.

There is also no timeline as to when the movie will be released, so maybe don’t hold your breath just yet. In the meantime, The Witcher is expected to return for a second season which is scheduled for a 2021 release, so maybe the movie could be released anytime between then or maybe after that.
