A lot of times we think of technology mostly designed for younger people in mind, but that doesn’t mean that the older generation cannot benefit from it. Take for example the Apple Watch, where the company has created a feature that notifies others when the user has fallen and has not responded to the prompts.

That being said, the folks at TCL have also decided to expand their offerings where they have since unveiled a new smartwatch called the TCL MoveTime Family Watch that they have created with senior citizens in mind. This includes features like activity tracking, fall detect, heart rate tracking, and also the ability to make calls hands-free.

According to the company, this has been designed to help seniors maintain their independence. It also comes with features like the ability to remind the wearer to take their medication and also to get in some exercise. Similar to the Apple Watch, the heart rate monitor will also be able to notify the user if it detects an irregular heart rate.

The MoveTime Family Watch is also IP67 rated, meaning that it will be both water and dust resistant. For those interested in the device, it will be released in both North America and Europe this fall where it is expected to be priced at €229.
