One of the new iPhones Apple announced at their iPhone event is the iPhone 12 mini. This is one of Apple’s cheapest flagship smartphones to date, and is also a throwback to the good old days when Apple used to make iPhones with small displays. However, it seems that if you were to choose the iPhone 12 mini, prepare to make some compromises.

On the surface, the compromises are obvious, like the smaller display, but under the hood, it seems that users would also be compromising on battery size. Apple failed to touch on battery during the iPhone event which raised some eyebrows, and it turns out that maybe it’s because there’s really not much to talk about.

According to a report from Tecnoblog, based on certification spotted at Anatel, which is Brazil’s National Telecommunications Agency, the battery size of the iPhone 12 mini has been revealed to be a mere 2,227mAh. This is paltry given that these days we’re seeing at least 4,000mAh or higher, so for a phone to sport a battery that’s half that in this day and age is kind of ridiculous.

Combine that with the support of 5G and we are a bit afraid to ask how long can the phone run before needing a recharge. It is possible that its smaller display could allow it to use less energy, but we’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, like we said, if you’re considering the iPhone 12 mini, then the tiny battery is something you’ll need to take into consideration.
