When Apple announced the iPad Air, they did not mention when it would be released. A rumor earlier this week suggested that Apple might announce something at its iPhone 12 event, but that obviously did not pan out. However, it seems that we might now have a release date to look forward to.

According to a listing on Walmart, the retailer has announced that they are now taking pre-orders for the tablet. The acceptance of pre-orders would suggest that availability would be coming soon, and the listing actually mentions that the tablet will be released on the 23rd of October, which is next Friday.

Apple has yet to confirm anything, but given that Walmart is such a huge retailer, there’s a chance that they might be more in the loop regarding Apple’s plans than we are. We’re not sure if this date is accurate or if Walmart might change it later, but either way if you’re keen on the new iPad Air, then you should go and place a pre-order through Walmart’s website now.

The new iPad Air adopts the same design as Apple’s iPad Pros which includes a full screen design and flat edges along the border of the tablet. There is no Face ID, but instead Apple has baked Touch ID into the power button on the edge of the device.
