If you have recently bought a pair of AirPods Pro from Apple, it seems that you could be eligible for a free replacement unit. This is according to a support document on Apple’s website in which they state that AirPods manufactured before October 2020 could fall victim to some sound-related issues.

According to Apple, if your AirPods Pro is experiencing, “Crackling or static sounds that increase in loud environments, with exercise or while talking on the phone” or if “Active Noise Cancellation not working as expected, such as a loss of bass sound, or an increase in background sounds, such as street or airplane noise,” then it looks like you’ll be eligible to get a free replacement unit.

Apple also notes that the entire unit will not be replaced, like the case. Also, they will only replace the affected earpiece, so if for example, the left earpiece of the AirPod Pro is fine, they will not replace it. The company will be running some diagnostics to determine which earpiece is affected and will replace them accordingly.

So, if you are finding that your AirPods Pro unit is giving you these problems, then you should probably take it to an Apple Authorized Service Provider and make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store where they’ll get you sorted.
