When Apple’s iPhone 12 was officially announced and it was confirmed that the handset would come without a charger, many were quick to mock the company, such as Samsung who posted an ad saying, “Your #Galaxy does give you what you are looking for. From the most basic as a charger, to the best camera, battery, performance, memory and even 120Hz screen.”

It was also accompanied by a photo of a charger with the caption, “Included with your Galaxy”. However, it seems that Samsung has since walked back on their Facebook post and has deleted it. It is no surprise that the company would do this because according to the rumors and regulatory filings, it has more or less been confirmed that the upcoming Galaxy S21 will also ditch the charger.

We can’t say we blame Samsung for mocking Apple, their rival. After all, it’s free publicity for them, even if it makes them look a bit silly down the road. Also, it’s not hard to understand why companies are starting to ditch the included accessories. Apart from claims of being better for the environment, it also reduces manufacturing costs plus it would also encourage some customers to purchase the charger separately, thus generating more revenue in the process.

In any case, we should have more details come January 2021 where Samsung is expected to eventually announce the Galaxy S21 handset.
