The Xiaomi Mi 11 on the surface appears to be a smartphone, but could there be something else lurking under the surface? Could the phone be more than what it appears to be? In a video uploaded to Xiaomi’s Weibo account, the company has revealed that the Mi 11 is actually a mechanical dragon in disguise!

Jokes aside, what really happened is that Xiaomi commissioned an artist to turn the Mi 11 into a sculpture of sorts. This involved disassembling the two Mi 11 handsets as well as four Mi 11 vegetarian leather editions. By taking the components that were disassembled, the artist managed to create a dragon sculpture out of it.

The entire process is said to have taken 30 days to complete, and we have to say that it looks very impressive. This is not the first time that artists have taken parts from other machines and turned them into sculptures, but we reckon that this might be the first time we’re seeing something like this made out of phone parts.

It’s actually quite a cool process and if you have a couple of minutes to spare, you can check out the video above to see how the Mi 11 was transformed from a smartphone and into a ferocious-looking robot dragon.
