If you’ve ever been to a theme park or a concert, sometimes you are given these paper bracelets that act as your ticket into the venue. The problem with these bracelets is that they can get damaged and lost or they might not be particularly pleasant to wear, which is why Disney is taking steps to change that.

The company has announced that in the near future, those who are visiting Walt Disney World will no longer need to wear MagicBands. Instead, they will be able to use their phones to act as their park pass. Disney says that it will be initially available to both iPhone and Apple Watch users later this year as part of a phased rollout before it reaches more devices. Also do note that this is for Disney World as Disneyland uses something else, so don’t expect to see these changes to Disneyland yet.

According to the company, parkgoers will be able to choose between either the MagicMobile feature in their app or the MagicBand if they prefer. “Guests may choose to use Disney MagicMobile service or a MagicBand – pick whichever option works best for you during your visit. You can even use both and alternate between the two for added flexibility. We’ll also soon be introducing more MagicBands in trendy new colors and fun designs featuring favorite Disney characters and stories.”
