While Apple’s iPhones are using OLED and with the iPad rumored to transition to mini LED, where does that leave Apple’s laptops? For the longest time ever, Apple’s MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptops have been using LCDs, which isn’t a bad thing, but it would be nice to see an upgrade.

For those who prefer Apple’s MacBook Air, if you can hold out, you might want to wait until 2022. This is because according to reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, he claims that Apple will be giving its MacBook Air a display upgrade next year where it is rumored to be using the same mini LED technology as the upcoming iPads.

According to Kuo, he claims that Apple will be able to use the more expensive mini LED panels for the MacBook Air because the company will be saving money on the processor front. As the 2022 MacBook Airs are expected to use Apple Silicon, they won’t have to pay money to Intel for the use of their processors.

As for the MacBook Pro, we have heard rumors of a redesigned model possibly coming in the fall of 2021, and Kuo’s report reiterates those claims. The MacBook Pro will be the first to get the mini LED display, followed by the MacBook Air in 2022.
