Apple refreshes its iPad lineup pretty much every year, but this year’s refresh is expected to be rather exciting because if the rumors are to be believed, it could be the first iPad to sport a mini LED display. Unfortunately, it seems that we might have to wait just a bit longer than expected, or at least that’s what a report from DigiTimes is claiming.

The report claims that the earliest we can expect to see Apple ship out a mini LED iPad Pro is in the second quarter of 2021, which means the 1st of April onwards. It was previously rumored that Apple could host an event in March where the devices would be announced, but as the company has yet to send out invites, some are speculating that this event may no longer take place this month.

This also means that there is a chance that whatever was planned for the event, like new iPads and also the rumored AirTags tracking accessory, will be delayed. It is unclear why Apple is taking longer than expected to launch the new iPads, but since the company hasn’t confirmed anything yet, it’s hard to say if a March event was even on the table to begin with.

Either way, if you were looking forward to getting a new iPad, you might have to wait a bit, and it might be worth waiting unless you absolutely need one right now.
