Apple Watch Saved Man’s Life After He Fell And Hit His Head

The Apple Watch can do more than just show you the time, your smartphone notifications, or take calls. It can also save your life, as we have heard in countless stories before, and here’s another that we can add to the list.

According to a story from the Boston Globe, 70-year old Dan Pfau has recently credited his Apple Watch for saving his life. According to Pfau, he claims to have a history of fainting. One morning, that’s what happened and he fell to the floor where he hit his head and it started to bleed significantly. He managed to get to his feet before stumbling and falling again.

He then used his Apple Watch to send a text to his wife who was downstairs, where he was eventually sent to the hospital. While he got stitches for the cut on his forehead, Pfau said his doctor put him in the ICU due to a fractured vertebrae he sustained in the fall. The doctor said he was lucky as he was not paralyzed as a result.

That being said, Pfau does note that he doesn’t exactly like the look of his Apple Watch. He says that he owns several nicer-looking regular watches, but considering that this would be the second time the Apple Watch has saved his life, he says that “it would be foolish not to wear it”.
