Are you the kind of gamer that plays games into the early hours of the morning? If the night is when you do most of your gaming, then you might be interested to learn that if you own an Xbox, Microsoft has revealed that they are working on a night mode for the console that will make it a bit more enjoyable in the dark.

According to Microsoft, “Night Mode has now been added as a new feature in Settings! Users can now dim and filter their screen, as well as dim their console & controller LED brightness. Please note that localization is still pending, so the feature is currently only available in English.” Of course, gamers who play their consoles with their TV brightness set at the max and have no issues then this probably won’t be a big deal.

However, for those who hate having to do this manually might be able to appreciate this feature. Users will be able to set a schedule for themselves, or they can set an automatic one where it will automatically enable Night Mode when the sunsets and disables it when the sunrises, kind of like how your smartphone’s Night/Dark Mode works.

At the moment the feature is being tested with xbox Insiders, but assuming all goes according to plan, it should eventually make its way to the public, but there is currently no word on when that will be.
