Amazon already makes a lot of its own brand of products, ranging from speakers, earbuds, pouches for cables, monitor stands, and more. So it doesn’t really come as a surprise to learn that Amazon’s next venture could be in TVs, or at least that’s what a report from Insider (paywall) claims.

Apparently Amazon will be launching their own branded TVs this October in the US in time for the holiday shopping season. The report claims that Amazon has been working on this project for the past two years, and it is the same division that helped develop products like the Kindle and Echo speakers.

However, it should be noted that the models that are planned for October are apparently made by third-party manufacturers like TCL. This will be separate from the ones that are being developed in-house, although we’re not sure if the in-house models will be announced alongside the other models, or if Amazon could be planning a separate announcement for that.

We imagine that an Amazon-branded TV will probably come with support for Alexa, much like most of its products. It will also more than likely run Fire TV as its platform of choice. Either way, we should have more details next month.
