Apple Just Hired Another Former Tesla Engineer

It has become something of an open secret that Apple is developing car-related technology. Whether or not this will result in an actual car or if Apple will end up creating accessories or the platform for other car manufacturers remains to be seen, but it is clear that the company is definitely interested in electric cars.

So much so that it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that Apple has hired yet another Tesla engineer. This is according to a report from Bloomberg where it claims that Apple has hired former Tesla chief of autonomous vehicle software, Christopher “CJ” Moore, for its Project Titan electric car.

The report claims that Moore will be reporting to Stuart Bowers, another former Tesla executive who had been hired by Apple towards the end of 2020. Bowers also had a high role at Tesla where he had led the company’s Autopilot team. Given Moore’s experience and expertise, it seems that he will be continuing his work on software while at Apple.

Apple has been rather busy hiring for its Project Titan, where a couple of months ago, it was reported that the company had also hired engineers who used to work at Mercedes. That being said, it could be a while before we see anything concrete from the company has previous estimates suggested that production might only begin in 2024.
