For the most part, Samsung is dominating the foldable phone market, but as the company is seeing more success with its foldables, it’s only natural that others want in on the action as well. The latest company to enter the foldable space would be Honor, the former sub-brand of Huawei before it was spun off to be its own company.

Honor is expected to announce their first foldable, the Honor Magic V, next Monday, and now thanks to a post on Weibo,  the possible pricing for the phone has been leaked. Assuming these prices are accurate, the Magic V will apparently be priced starting at CNY13,999, which after conversion is roughly $2,200.

It should be noted that based on its currency conversion, the Magic V is actually more pricey than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 which was launched at $1,800, but it is cheaper compared to the phone based on its China price, which is CNY14,999. We’re not sure how much it could cost if it were to launch in the US, but presumably the company could try to undercut the competition as well.

However, whether or not the Magic V will be worth its price remains to be seen, but it’s good to see alternatives which hopefully will force Samsung to step up their game.
