It would obviously be great if you could afford a massive TV in your living room, but maybe you can’t, or maybe you just don’t have the space for it. The next best thing would probably be a projector which gives you a bit more flexibility and freedom.

If that’s the direction that you’re headed, then you might be interested to learn that at CES 2022, Samsung has taken the wraps off a new projector that they are calling the Samsung Freestyle. This is not just any standard projector, but a smart one, which Samsung says combines a projector, a smart speaker, and even ambient lighting all rolled into a single device.

This means that if you’re familiar with Samsung’s smart TVs, then you should be familiar with the Freestyle, at least in terms of software. According to Samsung, the Freestyle projector can be powered using a standard USB-PD connection as long as it is 50W or higher. Unlike other projectors, the Freestyle has no built-in battery which means that it is designed to be used wired.

The projector is placed on a stand with a hinge that allows users to choose to either project the screen onto a wall or even a ceiling. There is support for auto keystone which means it can adjust the picture as necessary so you don’t get any distortion. According to Samsung, the Freestyle will be able to project up to 100-inches in screen size.

The Samsung Freestyle is currently available for pre-order via Samsung’s website where it is priced at $900.
