There are often little pleasures in life that we sometimes take for granted. For example when you play with your pets and they give you little playful bites, or when your toddler nibbles on your finger while they are teething. If you miss those moments because your kids are too grown up to be biting on your finger, you’re in luck.

The folks at Yukai Engineering have unveiled a stuffed robot animal called the Amagami Ham Ham that’s designed to replicate the feeling of a baby or a pet nibbling on your finger. Now, honestly we’re not sure how many people actually do enjoy this feeling and want to experience it on the daily, but apparently that’s what some people enjoy.

According to Yukai Engineering CMO Tsubasa Tominaga, “Most people like the nibbling sensation but know they need to teach their children or pets to stop it, because kids and animals will otherwise bite them with full force eventually. Amagami Ham Ham is a robot that frees humankind from the conundrum of whether ‘to pursue or not to pursue’ the forbidden pleasure.”

It’s probably a novelty at best, but it’s cute and if it’s something that you wouldn’t mind having at home, then this could be something to look out for in the future should the company decide to start selling it.

Yukai Engineering is no stranger when it comes to interesting robots. The company had previously unveiled a robotic cat pillow that wags its tail when stroked and a robot companion that was basically similar in concept and functionality to smart speakers before smart speakers were cool.
