BMW and TYDE have unveiled “The OPEN,” the world’s largest foiling motor yacht, as their second collaboration in the electric foiling yacht space. Following their success with “The ICON,” the new yacht aims to provide a refined and luxurious experience above the waves.

Measuring 49 feet in length and 15 feet in width, The OPEN features a zero-emissions drivetrain powered by a BMW i3 battery with a capacity of 400 kWh and twin 100 kW electric motors, enabling a maximum speed of 30 knots.

One notable feature of The OPEN is its integrated hydrofoils, allowing the yacht to smoothly glide above the water at around 18 knots with minimal drag and reduced noise. This propulsion system contributes to an 80% reduction in energy consumption.

The yacht can cruise at 25 knots for up to 50 nautical miles, and its hardtop is equipped with solar panels to enhance its green performance.

The design of The OPEN emphasizes versatility, with a windshield offering a clear and safe view of the surroundings, a deck that transforms from a sunbathing area to a dining space, and a bathing platform. Additionally, the yacht provides onboard accommodation for two, featuring a luxurious cabin equipped with a bed, workstation, TV, and ensuite bathroom.
