Google has expanded access to one of its advanced artificial intelligence features, making the Personal Intelligence capability available to free users of Gemini. Previously limited to paid plans and under testing since January, the feature is now being gradually rolled out across the Gemini app, Google Chrome, and AI Mode.

Personal Intelligence is designed to deliver more tailored and relevant responses by drawing on a user’s individual preferences and activity. Instead of relying solely on prompts entered at the moment, the system can consider past interactions and content associated with the user, including text, photos, and videos, to provide more contextualized assistance.

To enable this level of personalization, the feature integrates with several Google services. These include Google Workspace tools such as Gmail, Drive, and Calendar, as well as platforms like Google Photos, YouTube, Maps, and Search. By accessing these sources, the AI can better understand user habits, schedules, and interests.

Google highlights a range of potential use cases for Personal Intelligence. For example, it can help troubleshoot technical issues with products even if the user does not remember specific details about the purchase. It can also assist with managing busy schedules, generating personalized travel itineraries, and suggesting new hobbies based on observed preferences.

At launch, the feature is available to all users of AI Mode in the United States. For those accessing Gemini through the dedicated app or via Chrome, the rollout is being implemented gradually. Google has not yet provided a timeline for when Personal Intelligence will become available in other regions.
