Samsung has officially expanded its Android 17 beta testing initiative beyond the Galaxy S26 lineup, rolling out the first One UI 9 Beta build to the Galaxy S25 series. The update carries build versions ending in ZZHL or DZHK (such as S93xBXXUCZZHL), weighing approximately 3.86 GB depending on the specific handset, and packages the August 2026 security patch.
The initial testing rollout is currently active in South Korea, the United Kingdom, and India, with expansions planned for the United States, Germany, and Poland. Eligible devices comprise the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, Galaxy S25 Ultra, and the Galaxy S25 FE. The Galaxy S25 Edge is excluded from this preliminary test wave but remains scheduled for the public stable release later this year.

One UI 9 introduces notable interface customizations, multitasking improvements, and accessibility enhancements:
- Quick Panel Customization: Users can independently resize sliders for screen brightness, volume, and the media player widget, while separating sound mode toggles from the standard volume slider.
- Samsung DeX Upgrades: Window management is streamlined with fixed title-bar menus for shifting apps across virtual desktops, accompanied by real-time previews in the recent apps view.
- Samsung Notes: A newly added Tape tool allows users to mask handwritten or typed notes for interactive study sessions, alongside expanded pen styling options.
- Privacy Indicators: A persistent blue status indicator alerts users whenever applications actively access background or foreground GPS location data.
- Galaxy AI Integration: The firmware integrates Pay Now into Now Briefing, alongside Now Nudge context suggestions, My FanCam, and Horizontal Lock.
- Unified Accessibility: Features include Text Spotlight floating magnification, physical keyboard navigation shortcuts, enhanced Mouse Keys, Select to Speak, and a unified Google TalkBack engine updated directly through the Google Play Store.
Eligible users can enroll via the Samsung Members app to download the beta, ahead of the projected Q4 2026 stable release.
