Apple has officially introduced the HomeView, a smart home hub featuring a 7-inch Liquid Retina display and powered by the A18 chip. Designed to serve as the central control point for connected homes, the device combines advanced audio, adaptive display technology, and intelligent automation features.

The hub connects to a rounded speaker base via a stainless-steel hinge for smooth tilt adjustments. It is available in silver, starlight, light pink, and space gray. Users can place the device on a tabletop or mount it on the wall using specialized hardware from Schneider Home. The display features True Tone and variable brightness ranging from 0.3 nits to 500 nits.

Equipped with Apple Intelligence and Siri AI, the HomeView allows users to control smart home accessories through touch or voice commands. It supports the Apple Home Collection, Matter, and other compatible devices. Powered by the A18 processor and Secure Enclave technology, the hub ensures user data privacy while supporting features like Face ID recognition, Intercom messaging, and Center Stage video calls.

Beyond basic smart home controls, the HomeView includes robust security and personalization capabilities. Using an iCloud+ subscription, the device offers end-to-end encrypted intelligent recognition to identify family members, pets, packages, and vehicles while detecting smoke or carbon monoxide alarms. It recognizes up to six individual users via facial scanning, instantly tailoring home screens, photo albums, and private app data like messages and calendars to the person nearby. Additionally, interactive features like Live Activities, customizable watch-style faces, and seamless conversation continuity across Apple ecosystems make the hub an intuitive, deeply integrated daily assistant.

The desktop version is available for preorder at $300, with shipping starting November 13 in select markets. Availability varies by region due to local AI software rollouts.
