In web-based email clients such as the Outlook Web App, adding contacts to your contact list is pretty simple and straightforward and it’s right within the Outlook app itself. However for some reason, this isn’t necessarily the case for Google’s Gmail platform. If you’re trying to find a way to add contacts via Gmail, you should probably stop because the option is not there.

Adding Contacts Via Your Computer

  1. Head on over to the Google Contact’s website (https://contacts.google.com/)
  2. Ensure you are signed into the account that you want to add contacts
  3. Press the “Create contact” button to the left of the page
  4. Fill out the relevant details of the contact that you want to include and press “Save”
  5. The contact should now be saved along with all the pertinent information that you along with it
  6. More details on adding/importing contacts can be found on Google’s website. More comprehensive instructions can also be found on Google’s Gsuite website.

Adding Contacts Via Your Android Device

  1. On your Android phone, launch the “Contacts” app
  2. At the bottom right corner of the app, you should see a “+” button. Tap it to add your contact
  3. Fill out the details of the contact that you want to be included. Additional input fields can be found by tapping “More fields”
  4. Once you’re done filling out the details, hit “Save” and you should be good to go

Adding Contacts Via iOS Devices

  1. Unfortunately there is no app to add contacts to Gmail on iOS devices. If you really have to, then you’ll have to use the mobile web version of Google Contacts
  2. Tap the “+” button at the bottom right corner of the screen
  3. Fill out the details about the contact, click “Save” and you’re all set
