To delete your Uber account, follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Launch the Uber app on your smartphone.
  2. Now, tap on the hamburger menu icon at the top-left corner to find the menu.
  3. Head to the Settings now.
  4. Scroll down to find the “Privacy Settings” option.
  5. After you are in, you can observe – “Delete Your Account” listed at the bottom of the screen. Simply tap on it.
  6. You will now be asked to verify the password for your account. Make sure to enter the valid credential to proceed.
  7. Finally, you will be asked to share the reason why you thought of deleting the Uber account. Fill it in if you want them to know and improve.

It is done! The account has been permanently deactivated but not deleted. As per Uber’s policies, it deletes your account only after 30 days of your request. So, even if you sent the request accidentally, you can also recover your Uber account.

In case you’ve already deleted the app from your smartphone and don’t want to install it again – you can utilize the web browser on your phone or the desktop. To delete your uber account from a web browser, you need to follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Head to this official help page on Uber.com.

If you have an iPhone, follow the steps below:

  1. Find the Uber icon on your homescreen.
  2. Tap and hold the icon till all the icons start moving and present a “X” sign next to the install app icons as shown in the image above.
  3. Tap on the “X” – delete icon – to uninstall the app. You may be asked for a confirmation, confirm it to delete your uber app.
