• Operating the Korea Design Pavilion, Showcasing 13 Design-Driven Innovative Manufacturers and 4 Leading Design Firms
  • Supporting Tangible Business Outcomes Through Local Business Consultations and Matching Programs

The Korea Institute of Design Promotion (President: Yoon Joo Kang, hereinafter KIDP) will participate in the world’s largest consumer electronics and technology exhibition, ‘Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin 2026 (IFA 2026),’ held in Berlin, Germany, from September 4 to 8, and operate the Korea Design Pavilion.

IFA is recognized alongside CES in the United States and MWC in Spain as one of the world’s top three consumer electronics and technology exhibitions. Serving as a business platform where innovative technologies, startups, and new products converge, it attracts over 200,000 global buyers and visitors annually.

Marking its second year since its debut last year, the Korea Design Pavilion features 17 companies, including 13 manufacturers presenting design-driven, innovative products and 4 specialized design firms with global-level design consulting capabilities. It plans to demonstrate that Korean design extends beyond mere product development to offering comprehensive solutions and design consulting services.

Among the manufacturers, DH Global introduces a newly interpreted 150L compact kimchi refrigerator redesigned from an existing soju refrigerator, leveraging high-efficiency cooling, precise temperature control, and low-noise design technology. Additionally, U2 System leverages its UX R&D capabilities to unveil ‘Purisoo Plus,’ a design-driven, innovative product that purifies contaminated water using a pump-action filter.

The design firms participate in the ‘Design Trade Mission.’ The Design Trade Mission is a program established to support the creation of global businesses and market entry for representative Korean design firms by selecting design companies with high overseas market potential and by supporting exhibitions, B2B consultations, and networking. During the exhibition period, a B2B networking event titled ‘Korean Design Meets Berlin: Built for Real Life’ will be held to explore cooperation and new business opportunities with local German companies.

Among design companies, ABOVE is an integrated design consultancy that covers products, spaces, and branding. Based on its experience participating in the development of ‘Moovin Tracing,’ a motion capture solution by the startup Moovin, which developed the world’s first system combining LiDAR sensors and AI, ABOVE plans to assess global demand and explore cooperation opportunities with international clients at this exhibition. In addition, BDCI, Second White, and intenxiv will also participate.

KIDP will also operate on-site business consultations and matching programs during the exhibition period. This provides opportunities for participating companies to directly engage with global buyers and clients while understanding local market conditions, culture, and design trends.

After the exhibition concludes, 1:1 customized consulting with export and legal experts will be provided to participating companies lacking overseas expansion experience for follow-up negotiations with buyers, sample shipping, and contract reviews, thereby increasing the success rate of entering international markets.

Yoon Joo Kang, President of the Korea Institute of Design Promotion, stated, “IFA is a global business arena where world-class home appliance and tech companies, buyers, and investors gather, serving as an important opportunity for our companies to showcase their innovative design products and capabilities to the world market. We will continue to actively support domestic enterprises so that they can broaden their opportunities for global cooperation.”
