While the first-gen Google Glass wasn’t exactly a smashing success (perhaps it was too much ahead of its time), Google has since had some luck with Google Glass finding its way into the enterprise sector. In fact it appears that Google could be working on a second-gen Google Glass Enterprise Edition if the recent leaks are to be believed.
In recent times we’ve started to realize how wearables have the potential to help with certain medical conditions. For example recently it was discovered that over in China, the use of virtual reality could potentially help gauge how well drug addicts are recovering in rehab. Now it looks like another wearable in the form of Google Glass can also help kids with autism.
Google hyped up the benefits of Google Glass quite a bit back when this product was launched as part of an Explorer Program a couple of years ago. However, Google’s ambitions for putting a wearable computer on our faces fizzled out. It didn’t release another version of the Google Glass and we’ve not heard much about this product over the past two years. However, a new Google Glass has been […]
Google got everyone excited about the smart wearable glasses concept with the Google Glass. It sold the device for $1,500 but it was clear that the first-generation product wasn’t meant for the average consumers. Google hasn’t really talked about releasing such a product for the average consumer since then but it’s still supporting the units it sold. The first Google Glass firmware update has arrive after nearly three years.
So far every year for the past few years without fail Google has hosted its annual Google I/O event, and this year the company is back with the 2017 version. Just like Microsoft’s BUILD conferences or Apple’s WWDC, Google I/O is mostly about software and services, where Google will introduce new software and potentially launch new services for its customers to check out, and we expect that this year will […]
Picking up a new language or a skill takes time, and very rarely do you get it right on the first try. However thanks to technology, it could help to speed things up. For example just recently, researchers have managed to develop a system in which Google Glass is able to teach its wearer morse code in just 4 hours.
Assuming things are still moving along nicely, Google is still working on their next-generation Google Glass. A report from last year indicated that at least one version of the Google Glass is said to be called the Enterprise Edition, which as its name suggests would be more for enterprise use versus commercial.
When Google announced that they would be ending the first-gen Glass wearable, they were also quick to announce that a new one would be in the works. However recently Google has made some changes that has us questioning the future of the project, namely when they started closing all social media accounts that are related to the project.
We all know that Google will be revamping their Glass technology. However it seems that despite there being a new Glass in the works, existing users of Glass are still finding a lot of use in the current version. The most recent story we heard is over in Poland where doctors, thanks to the help of Google Glass, managed to unblock a coronary artery. How was this done? Basically through the […]
As many of you guys know by now, Google is working on a redesigned Google Glass in which it will be completely redesigned from scratch. Unfortunately a specific release date has yet to be determined but it seems that we can expect at least more than one version. This is according to a report from The Information (paywall; via Engadget) who claims that there are at least three versions of […]
As you all have heard, Google is working on a sequel to its Glass wearable. This is following the failure of the original Glass headset in which Google stated that they did not anticipate the hype and did not manage it properly, so here’s hoping that Google gets it right the second time around. The features of its successor still remains shrouded in mystery, but last we heard it could be […]
As many might have heard, Google has decided to go back to the drawing board with Google Glass, with Nest’s Tony Fadell taking charge of the project this time round. It is unclear as to when we might see or learn more about this new Google Glass initiative, but a report from Business Insider might have shed some light on it.According to the report, it seems that Google has recently […]
The Google Glass experiment did not really manage to take off in the manner which Google intended due to poor management, which was why the program was stopped, I suppose. Still, this does not mean that Google has thrown in the towel or raised the white flag for the program – in fact, it was just slightly more than a week ago that additional details of Google Glass Enterprise Edition […]
