dvf-google-glass-framesAs many might have heard, Google has decided to go back to the drawing board with Google Glass, with Nest’s Tony Fadell taking charge of the project this time round. It is unclear as to when we might see or learn more about this new Google Glass initiative, but a report from Business Insider might have shed some light on it.

According to the report, it seems that Google has recently hired some consumer electronics experts from Amazon’s Lab126. For those unfamiliar, Lab126 is where Amazon creates projects like its Kindle Fire tablets and its smartphone, the Fire Phone. Recent rumors have suggested that Amazon has also laid off a bunch of employees from Lab126, so we have to wonder if Google is capitalizing on that.

That being said, the report goes on to note that the hires are for a new effort codenamed Project Aura and is supposedly the new Google Glass. This is thanks to several of Google’s new hires which on their LinkedIn profiles, described the project they are working on as “Google Glass and Beyond”, one another wrote that they were working on “building cool wearables”.

Unsurprisingly Google has declined to comment, but like we said Google has publicly stated that they are working on a new Google Glass and last we heard, it was supposed to be designed with fashion in mind.
