Earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show 2016 Samsung made an aggressive comeback onto the PC laptop scene. The company launched two new Notebook 9 ultrabooks in 15 inch and 13 inch display sizes. The new notebooks promise speed and productivity in a very lightweight package. Samsung has now started selling these notebooks in the United States.
Asus today added two new models to its ultrabook lineup. Touting an Intel Core i7 processor the UX303LA and UX303LN have a “smoky brown” chassis which comes in at only 0.7-inch thick. Asus rounds off things with a spun-metal finish which according to the company “echoes the spirit of Zen.” The new ultrabook shave a starting price point of $899.
Sony is showing off its Vaio Pro 11 at Computex, which weighs in at only 2.2 pounds.
Two new Lenovo ultrabooks, the ThinkPad S3 and S5, have been leaked showing an aluminum case.

The Samsung Series 9 2012 (aka NP900) is presented by Samsung as a laptop line that “pushes the envelope”, and the company has certainly up the ante by introducing a new design that is 20% thinner and more robust than the original Series 9 laptop (the 900X, which I owned and use one for about 12 months). The changes are quite obvious from the outside: this year’s model has directly accessible […]

NEC says that the LaVie X is the world’s thinnest ultrabook, thanks to its 12.8mm form factor and 1.59kg weight. At 15.6-inches, the display size of the LaVie X is much larger than the LaVie Z and it also comes with a full […]

Could pricing be a reason behind their revised predictions? While it might have been a consideration, the folks at Digitimes have put out a report that suggests that come 2013, it seems that we can look forward to Ultrabooks that will cost a pretty affordable […]
