AT&T download speeds seem fastest among rivals

Statistics, damned statistics! Well, depending on which point of view you come from, we suppose you can always conjure a rosy picture about your particular product. Take the case of mobile carriers, where everyone claims to have the fastest speed normally, and this time round AT&T emerges as the apparent winner between a tussle with Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon. Based on tests done by PCWorld in December of 2009 and January of 2010, it shows AT&T hitting average download speed 812 Kbps and average upload speed 660 Kbps, which is the highest among its rivals. One good thing is AT&T has improved tremendously over the past year, but then again the test criteria was not revealed. After all, we did run into many people complaining about the slowness of their 3G connection on their iPhones on the CES showfloor last month, so go figure.
