It might surprise folks that it’s taken a little while to arrive, but Google has finally added push notifications to its latest version of the Google Mobile App. The app now sports an icon badge to notify you when you’ve got new mail in Gmail, and Google Calendar events appear right on your home screen via push notifications. There are also new features to help you get your hands on information faster by offering you the answer after you’ve finished typing the question, and even before you hit “search”. The updated version is already available on the App Store, so feel free to give it a test drive.
