Once in a while, a concept comes along that blows the mind away for its sheer capability of changing the way we humans live (for the better, of course) – but more often than not, such concepts will never take off simply because the technology to usher in such an era has yet to arrive. Case in point, the C-Water concept that is an entrant in the Incheon International Design Awards, delivering water purification possibilities using a simple distillation technique. To make it all the more green, it draws its power from the sun. Yup, solar power comes into play yet again, where this slim and stackable device is capable of floating on any calm water surface. All fresh water will be collected in a separate reservoir, and since it is highly portable, expect those who do plenty of traveling and exploration outdoors to find this indispensable when it comes to survival. Of course, we will also think of indigenous people who live in the interiors of jungles and need some assistance in obtaining fresh drinking water during emergencies – this would certainly be worth a shot.
