Crestron has just announced their Sonnex 24X8 Multiroom Audio System, and not only that, it is ready for shipping. Home theater buffs will probably be the only segment of our readers who will be interested in this device, since it is capable of transmitting up to 48 channels of uncompressed 24-bit HD audio through long distances across a single shielded CAT5-type cable – and up to 74 zones to boot. This breakthrough all-in-one high-efficiency hardware design and exclusive single-wire digital bus technology incorporated into the device is more than welcome for installers, since it substantially reduces the hardware and cabling requirements of traditional systems without sacrificing on both maximum power and sound quality. If you’re an installer, you might want to recommend this sytem to others (apart from yourself) since it will definitely help save you much more time during the installation process, translating to being able to attend to other customers while your competitors are left behind in the dust.
