Home made electric scooter fits into suitcase nicely

They say that necessity is the mother of all invention, and Terry Hope decided to work on an electric scooter which could fit into a suitcase simply because of good ol’ red tape – he was told three years ago by a captain that he cannot bring anything aboard which could not fit into a suitcase. Of course, instead of purchasing a larger suitcase, he decided to work on an electric scooter that fit into one. His DIY solar-electric Kinetic Photovoltaic Vehicle (KPV) is now road-worthy, with a stock steel scooter frame as its base while being augmented by a range of hand-made and off-the-shelf parts. The batteries can be juiced up from the mains within three quarters of an hour, and the scooter has a range of around 13 miles per charge.Version 2 is in the works, and it will take a few more months before it hits the market. Way to go, Terry!
