Who would have thought that something like the iPhone could be used to do something much more useful – like mowing your lawn, for example? Yeah, just when you thought that the iPhone has run out of things to control, along comes news that your lawn can actually get mowed down remotely, while you remain nice and dry inside as the lawn mower gets the job done. With robotic lawn mowers becoming more popular since many people have claimed that maintaining their homes and gardens have proved to be too time consuming, here’s an iPhone app that makes your life even easier – where it will play nice with the Husqvarna Automower.

This new iPhone app lets you mow the lawn remotely even when you are not at home. As long as your Automower robotic lawnmower comes with a GPS Communication Unit, it is able to be remotely started and stopped, not to mention being tracked right on your iPhone screen itself. The app also boasts additional stuff such as helpful movies, a purchasing guide and FAQs. This is eerily closer to a remote controlled kill-bot, don’t you think so?

The GPS Communication Unit is slated to arrive with majority of the Automower models, and from this year onwards, it will be standard issue for the 260 ACX model. Apart from that, the GPS Communications Unit will also support a GPS theft tracker and SMS alert, where the latter sends you text messages when necessary. When will Android catch up in this area?
